I Need A Dollar
Back in 2012, Kahlil Joseph asked if I’d sit in on this. 4:17 into it there we are in Jumel Terrace Books, which is still there but nobody else is. The shop is still there, open by appointment, but since 2015 it’s been mostly occupied by short-term rentals that mostly came through AirBnB, which has been, at least temporarily closed by the Orwellian named Mayor’s Office of Special Enforcement.
If you are interested in our local history, African and American, Revolutionary & Colonial Washington Heights, Harlem, Africa, West Indies, Art, Myth, History & Literature: Slavery, Reconstruction, Jim Crow, Theology, Military, Labor, Civil Rights, Negritude, Black Power, give us a call, message us, or send an email. http://jumelterracebooks.com
Likewise, if you are looking for a place to stay Uptown during a visit to New York City. (see: An Educational Haven at Harlem’s Little Black Bookshop Turned B&B).
I need a dollar.
Merci,
KT
